The Storm
Staten Island, New York
Hurricane Sandy had devastated properties of many people in New York and New Jersey.
A storm can be predicted, but the damage can be unexpected. Physical storm and life's storm can be
a wake-up call. It can also be a test of how resilient we are in facing life's adversities.

The Way to the Cross
Holy Week
(Philippines)
For the Catholics,
the Lenten season has begun. We start to make sacrifices again.
The way to the
cross is a hard path - with many thorns, bushes, rocks, bumps, and humps. It is not an easy way. There is no shortcut. But one thing is for sure, we’ll all
reach the end of the way . . . . no matter how we do it.

Winter Shadows
Princeton University, New Jersey
The U.S.
celebrates the Groundhog day every February 2. The tradition originated during
medieval times when hibernating animals saw shadow, it means that winter would
continue. If they didn’t see a shadow, then spring will arrive early.
When winter
and shadows go together, most of us don't appreciate it.
However, when
winter and shadow are captured together in a photo, they create a wonderful scene.

At the End of the Day
Princeton, New
Jersey
(on a winter day)
“At the end of the day . . . ” is a famous idiomatic
expression we often hear. It means - “in
the course of time.” All of us have our own piece to complete this figure of
speech. Literally, at the end of the day, the sun sets while the moon rises. At
the end of the day, we give thanks to everything – good and bad, and hope that tomorrow is a better day.
