The Black Nazarene

Filipino Catholics celebrate the Feast of Black Nazarene today – a unique and one of the biggest Catholic traditions in the Philippines.  Devotees believe that wiping a piece of cloth or touching the image can bring miracles, cure illnesses and obtain plenary indulgence for sins. Faith comes in different ways. Indeed, faith can move us in many ways, too.

Green Pastures

The old adage, “the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence,” is hard to believe.  What I believe is that - in order for something to stay in bloom, we have to nurture it, no matter what side of the fence we are on.

The Cliff

The literal meaning of a cliff is a mass of rock that rises very high and is almost vertical like a wall.  It is a popular term used in the government. It may have a negative connotation, but the beauty of it is that -  when you think it is the end of the road and you have nowhere to go, you would realize that the journey you have taken to reach the cliff wasn’t easy. Then you would back off,  and find another path to continue your journey.

The Arch

Ahau Arch

This unique and impressive natural rock formation is seen at ‘Nakabuang Beach’ in Sabtang Island, Batanes, Philippines. A popular spot and famous for photo shoots, this Arch is a wonderful creation, a refuge of beauty and serenity.

Lighthouse

 Batanes Lighthouse

In the old days, a lighthouse is a tower designed to emit light from a system of lamps and used as an aid to navigate at sea. Now, the lighthouse is a classic scene, a symbol of history, and a subject of every photographer and travel enthusiast.
